That couples from elsewhere plan a small wedding or elopement when traveling to NYC makes perfect sense: coordinating schedules and finances for guests will prove difficult. When local couples express interest in my services as their officiant for elopements (fewer than a dozen or so guests) I am especially elated: they could plan a larger celebration — and indeed many do for later dates — yet the allure of a private wedding ceremony captures them.
W+B married in the Dene Shelter, which is at about 5th Avenue and 68th Street. It looks similar to the Cop Cot, but has less bench space. We enjoyed the quietude of this niche.
