I grew up in Southold, and my family moved to East Hampton for seven years, where I lived as well while attending college and graduate school in Manhattan. (Yes, the commute was brutal, but youth is the time for such commutes!) My immediately family has since re-located to upstate New York in search of cheaper real estate (they still love LI), so when Dan and Irene contacted me for their destination wedding in Watermill, which is a tiny sub-town of the Hamptons, I was delighted to oblige.
My spouse and I hopped in a Zip car and enjoyed the scenic ride –even with the awful traffic that I do not miss. Irene and Dan, who are originally from Europe, commented upon they believe the area to be among the most strikingly pretty in the world.
