I know at least two other officiants who are conducting “mass gay weddings” in NYC. I toyed with the idea. Ultimately, though, I think my focus on more relaxed weddings will prove to be wise. So I am going to insert time between weddings as usual and travel to the site chosen by the couple. Of course, if you really want me to marry more than one of “you and yours” in a particular spot, do feel free to contact me (347-248-6294) with your ideas.
Between July 24th and July 30th, my honorarium will be $75 – $150 for same-sex marriage ceremonies in most parts of NYC (yes, of course, included is the license filing!) It will be $275 for Staten Island, the Bronx, parts of Westchester, and Nassau.
Or couples may opt for the Off-Beat Elopement/Wedding package at $350, which comes with a standard ceremony (yes, do write personal vows to exchange, though!), the license filing, and 45-60 minutes of photos with an online gallery of downloadable images available about 14-21 days afterwards.
***Those same-sex couples (and queer friendly brethern) who secure the judicial waiver may marry the same day they receive the license. Take note that select clerks’ offices will be open to distribute the license on Sunday, July 24th, including the NYC Marriage Bureau. Since judges will be available to issue a judicial waiver, I’ll travel just about anywhere you’d like in the New York Metro Region on July 24th, et cetera — as is my usual practice.***
(Note that I am not free on July 24th between 6-8:30 p.m.)
Whatever the case, do e-mail NewYorkOfficiant@gmail.com for an appointment.
Finally, couples looking to hire a lgbt / queer friendly officiant and/or photographer team might want to consider getting married a few weeks after the rush…even in the winter, when the wedding (and tourist) season becomes quieter.
